SMSF Assistant Manager (Accountant)
Job description
We’re looking for an experienced SMSF professional to join Slomoi Immerman Partners (SIP) in Melbourne in an assistant manager-level role. This is an opportunity to step into a technical, hands-on position supporting the delivery of high-quality accounting and compliance services for self-managed superannuation funds, with a focus on high net wealth clients and diverse investment structures.

What you’ll be doing
• Preparing clear and concise information requests for clients and advisers
• Managing fund transactions, reconciliations and investment records
• Processing SMSF accounts and tax returns using Class software
• Collation of supporting audit workpapers
• Working closely with auditors and helping resolve audit queries end-to-end
• Identifying and addressing compliance matters in line with ATO, SISA and SISR requirements
• Supporting directors, managers and the broader team with SMSF-related queries
• Reviewing work completed by junior team members and supporting their development
• Contributing to workflow management, helping ensure quality, consistency and timely delivery across the SMSF portfolio
About you
What we’re looking for
• CA or CPA qualification, with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
• 5+ years’ experience in SMSF accounting, including end-to-end preparation of accounts, workpapers and audit query resolution
• Strong experience using Class and a solid understanding of SISA and SISR, particularly across in-house assets, contributions and pensions
• Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
• High attention to detail, with strong organizational and time management skills
