Robyn | Executive Assistant

Robyn takes extreme pride in her work juggling the administrative load for SIP Directors Laurence and Andrew. She has worked side by side with Laurence since Day 1 when everyone did every job and whatever it took to build a firm that was different, and a place they would love coming in to work at each day. “If you build it, they will come” was her mantra and today as she looks back on everything the team has accomplished, she feels honoured to have played her part.

The self-confessed mother hen of the SIP family, Robyn makes sure to look after everyone, but especially offers emotional support to new recruits and graduates. “We really are a family firm” she explains. “SIP is not just a place to work, you become part of the family.” And she knows this better than most, working alongside her daughter Nicole at SIP each day it really is a family affair!

Robyn makes the most of every situation. Growing up the only girl with 3 brothers, she desperately wanted to be a schoolteacher but when she wasn’t presented with the opportunity, she went out and made her own.  She studied at RMIT and had a new dream for herself, hoping her administration and shorthand skills would help her become a court reporter.

Whatever Robyn put her mind to she could achieve. She took everything in her stride, positions at global companies, big 4 firms and SMEs but most challenging – and rewarding – of all would be her longest standing role as a working single mother. A proud mum to a 29-year-old son and 25-year-old twins, Robyn is an amazing mother and role model. Resilient, diligent, and caring she shows up to work each day and does her best.

Breaking the bias for Robyn means smashing the glass ceiling.

She wants more women to be mothers and work and succeed. Stigmas of working (or not working) mothers should disappear, and more women should be represented at the boardroom table. “Every business needs diversity and a different perspective. It is so great to see more women in management positions at SIP, but we need more!”
